Right Analysis Timely Execution Meaningful Moves - Trader Shakti Saran

Right Analysis. Timely Execution. Meaningful Moves.

A reflection from my trading journey

Trading is often viewed through numbers—entries, exits, points, profits and losses. But behind every trade is something far more important: a decision made under uncertainty.

For me, trading is an ongoing journey of observation, patience, discipline and continuous learning.

A recent Bitcoin trade provided another opportunity to reflect on that process.

I entered a short position at 81,208.5 and exited at 79,749.5, capturing approximately 1,459 points of the move.

It was a meaningful move, but capturing the points isn’t the most important lesson I take from the trade.

Observe. Plan. Execute. Review.

These four simple words describe much of how I think about the trading journey at a broader level.

Observe — Pay attention and understand the bigger picture.

Plan — Think through possibilities rather than simply reacting to every market movement.

Execute — When it is time to make a decision, act with discipline rather than emotion.

Review — Whatever the outcome, look back at the experience and learn from it.

Markets constantly provide new information, and no trader can know with certainty what will happen next. The objective, therefore, isn’t to be right every time.

It is to keep improving the quality of the decisions we make under uncertainty.

We Don’t Need to Capture the Entire Move

One lesson I continue to appreciate is that a successful trade doesn’t require entering at the absolute top and exiting at the absolute bottom.

There was considerably more movement available in this particular market move than the approximately 1,459 points I captured.

That’s perfectly fine.

Trying to extract every possible point from every move can easily turn a disciplined decision into an emotional one. There will always be another price above our entry that would have been better, another price below our exit that would have produced a larger result, and another opportunity that becomes obvious only after it has happened.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is to make thoughtful decisions, manage uncertainty and continue improving.

Every Trade Can Teach Us Something

Winning trades deserve review just as much as losing trades.

A profitable outcome doesn’t necessarily mean every decision within a trade was good. Similarly, a losing outcome doesn’t automatically mean every decision was wrong.

That distinction is important to me because trading is ultimately a probabilistic activity. We make decisions without knowing the future and then live with the outcome.

Over time, I hope to become better not merely at trading markets, but at the qualities trading continually demands—patience, discipline, emotional balance, independent thinking and the willingness to keep learning.

That is what I plan to share through Trader Shakti: occasional moments and reflections from my own trading journey.

Not predictions. Not trading calls. Not promises of easy profits.

Just experiences, thoughts and lessons from participating in markets and continuing to learn from them.

Same markets. A calmer mind. A stronger you.
